A New Era for Sirens Inline Hockey

New Female Development Officer Announcement, Team GM confirmed for a second season and Team Coaches Announced.

Although this lockdown and lack of sports has been going on far longer than any of us had hoped, it has had positives with Sirens Hockey getting the attention and organization it deserves. Behind the scenes at Inline Hockey Ireland, PJ Ó Cuinneagáin was named the new Female Development Officer ahead of the 2020-21 season. Since then he has been getting into his role and brainstorming to help develop the sport and attract new female members and ensure a better experience for current ones in Inline Hockey ahead of the reopening of sports in Ireland.

He has been working closely with Returning Team General Manager Katarina Benova, Returning Head Coach Vytautas Lukosevicius, Women's Team Ireland Coach Raimonds Kapinskis and experienced Referee and Player and Mandated Person for the Sirens Sonya McEaneni. As a result of there hard work at these meetings, the team will be more structured with the goal of attracting new female members to the sport of Hockey as well as showing off the talents and dedication of our all female team competing in a national and technically international (cross border) coed league.

"Ourselves at Inline Hockey Ireland and the Siren's team staff have been working hard to improve player experience and with the hope of increasing female participation going forward. In the upcoming season the Siren's will benefit from an easier registration process via the IHI Registration Portal. During this process, players will be able to read all new and updated club documentation in relation to club objectives and purpose, adopted IHI policies including child safety policies and the team code of conduct/player agreement." - PJ Ó Cuinneagáin
